Self Alchemized: Transmuting Archetypical
The Beginning of a New Era for Archetypical
Death and Rebirth
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. At first it wasn’t deliberate, but as the time went on I realized that I was building an online container for my work that wasn’t reflective of what I was actually doing. I started Archetypical a few years ago when I was still in a massive learning and growing phase. While I had some longer term visions for where I wanted to go with the blog and with my inner work career of coaching and teaching I also was just throwing caution to the wind and seeing what would happen.
It’s been a wild ride so far. Most of the ripples happened within my actual physical community, my blog acting as a sort of identity business card for where I was coming from. It’s funny how promoting and posting online led to me meeting people in real life who have helped me along my path in ways I couldn’t have even imagined.
At the time though, I was still searching. Searching for truth and answers I felt were there but couldn’t quite access. In the time since I haven’t found those answers, but I very much found something else. Slowly a shift was happening where I was no longer invested in looking for truth, and more and more invested in actually experiencing transformation within me.
Through studying and learning and endlessly reading books on psychology, spirituality, and philosophy I was able to fill my head with countless ideas on how to heal, just not the actual experience of being healed. And while “being healed” is an arbitrary concept in itself, and that I was definitely having some success, there was something missing. I was distracting myself from my actual felt experience through remaining in my ivory tower of intellect.
At some point the need for more knowledge fell away. I still have a voraciously curious mind that will continue to learn until the day I die, but there isn’t as desperate a need to know. A sort of realization that knowing is futile, that there isn’t some final puzzle piece that arrives and finally makes it all make sense.
Instead I’ve shifted my focus to what is actually here. Not the stories, the archetypal narratives, or my mind’s interpretation of what my life and the events in it were, but the actual experience before I had a chance to intellectualize it. I suppose the whole time it was all a work in progress to this point. Opening up to feeling and direct experience of myself has always been what I’ve gravitated towards. It was only recently where the shift was dramatic enough for me to want to pull back and reassess what I’ve been doing.
I saw a quote recently that said something like, “as I helped someone up the mountain, I found that I too had reached the top.” This shift in my approach towards learning and really, life in general coincides with me learning the ropes of being a guide and coach for others. The more I got real practice doing this, the more I realized that having an intellectual understanding of your psyche and life doesn’t actually do much for you. For many it’s too heady to even grasp, and for those that do it’s a very, very slow process that sometimes works.
This prompted me to really reevaluate. To let go of layers of beliefs around what I thought life had to be. To shift from the intellectual to the applied. I still maintained my unique interests in esoteric philosophy, depth psychology, and self development (and many, many other random interests). Everything has just been “recontextualized” in a way that required a shift in how I operate.
With that being said, this is the final post I’ll make on Archetypical. But fear not. I’m starting a new Substack, one geared more towards actually utilizing this knowledge to gain what is essentially self remembrance.
I’ve been very fortunate to have been blessed with an intuitionally guided life that has led me to many mentors both physically in my life and long past through their books. Maybe it’s the part in me that has sought deeper and deeper answers that has attracted people that can aid that. Like does attract like after all.
I know that as I continue to go through life my ideas will change, as that just seems to be how things go. This next era though carries a stronger container for where I’m headed and for the growth I’ll experience.
If change is the only constant then there is no fixed self, no fixed truth. There is only the experience of this change, and the conscious participation in the transmutation of this beautiful life. With that I’m calling this new blog: Self Alchemized. A play on “Self Actualized” but with more emphasis on the energetic shifting than any “actualized” final form.
I have a feeling this is going to be pretty awesome.
The Beginning of Self Alchemized
With Self Alchemized I’ll be posting much more regularly, and while I may write lengthier articles if the situation calls for it my aim is to deliver much more “to the point” and concise (something I can definitely struggle with!).
While the emphasis will be on actually working directly with your experience of consciousness and shifting and playing with states within you, I also care less and less about my public image and will be writing about whatever topic really excites me. Mostly this includes my perspectives on astrology and (other random occult topics), which are rooted less in the pop-psychology-typology that astrology seems to be known for and more on the esoteric modeling of consciousness that I believe astrology can illustrate in a really cool way.
Really though I’m just following my excitement and the excitement of weaving different threads of thought into something that resonates with my actual experience.
Overall it’s still me, still the same writing as before. Just rebranded and recontextualized to allow for more of me to actually show up.
With all that being said, Welcome to Self Alchemized. May we all remember what it truly means to be a conscious being having this human experience.
Posts will be every Tuesday morning. Expect the first post in a few days (This Tuesday) starting with discussing shadow work and what it really means beyond intellectual self-analyzing.
I’m not entirely sure what to do with Archetypical. I’d like to keep it around as an archive since there’s still some good articles there. I still have to play around with Substack and see what works. I do know that I probably won’t be posting anymore to that blog, and everything we now be on Self Alchemized.
Coaching Service
I’m still offering coaching services, and like I mentioned my new and improved Substack is much more directly reflective of the work I do in 1-1 sessions. If my writing peaks your interest and you want further guidance with techniques and methods mentioned then please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am here to help as many people as I possibly can in this one short life I have.
If interested you can check out my website at www.selflachemized.com for more. Send me an email or dm me here on Substack with any questions or inquires you may have.
I also will be putting on some in-person classes on shadow work and other inner alchemical methods if you’re interested and in or around Bellingham, Washington.
Otherwise I’ll see you over on Self Alchemized.

I love this and am excited to see how it develops. I resonate a lot with your trajectory, too. Alchemy is one of my favorite things.
I've been putting out feelers for collaborations recently and I think we could create something intriguing together, if you're interested. I don't have a specific outcome/medium in mind but rather am open to the possibilities.
